The 50's Diner in Peoria

My food was so good, I forgot to take a picture!! But the damn buffalo chicken was huge and delicious!!Wife had the mushroom burger, and it was awesome as well...Chose this place off of Google Maps and was definitely surprised!!Excellent!

02/15/20 6:45pm. Our waitress had long dark hair back in a braid. Our service was terrible! Our waitress was clearly not interested in doing any more work tonight. We waited for her to come take our order, the she dissapeared for a long time and didn't even try to tear herself from visiting another employee until she was told to take some of her food out. The cooks were good about getting food out, but it piled to more than 10 meals in the window before the cook had to tell another waitress to tear her away from her visiting. The waitress who finally helped (an older woman) walked past the piling window of food three times before offering to help...there wasn' much going on as she was only saying a long goodbye to another worker. We watche'd our food sit in the window for over 10 minutes . We probably won't be back .

Very friendly pricing for the portion of food. Atmosphere was fun, staff and service was great.

If you like diner food, this is the place for you. We like to come here for breakfast and it is very popular--especially so on Saturday morning when we were there. I had the veggie omelet (3 eggs, veggies, and cheese) which comes with hashbrowns and your choice of toast though it can also be ordered without the extras even though it isn't listed on the menu that way. The service is always quick, any server can help you as they are interchangeable, and someone always seems to be rotating through the restaurant with a pot of coffee to keep your cup filled. If you are familiar with the old Maid-Rite and the loose meat hamburger, they have their version of it also. The gift shop area has old-timey items for sale also, but the food is really the highlight here.

Food is good and reasonably priced. Service is quick and friendly. I have recommended this place to others.

It's not a 50's dinner anymore. The food was extra salty won't go back was disappointed.

I Love the Biscuits and Gravy right along with right along with Delicious Eggs, Scrumptious Hashbrowns and Hearty Sausage patties!

I loce this place cause it reminds me of back home Memphis Tenn. The hospitality is wonderful and they server very great breakfast

Food was pretty good and thier shakes a great but though server was friendly she never came around much. I waited 10 minutes before she even came to me after I got seated. I waited over half an hour for someone to come up to me so I could get a to go container for my food so I could leave. Wasn't even my server that finally asked me if I needed anything else. It was the coffee lady bless her heart.

My wife and I went here for breakfast. If you are looking for a quality breakfast for a cheap price, stop and park in front of The 50's Diner and walk inside. We went in on a Sunday morning around 10:00 am and were seated within 20 minutes. The service was prompt and kind. Our waitress answered all of our questions. I could not see through my coffee, which was a plus. The flavor was mediocre, but it was $2 for unlimited cups so I can't complain. Eggs cooked to order, hashbrowns tasted great, but the country fried steak was a bit greasy. All in all, we were satisfied. We will be back.

Love to eat at the 50's diner. Moved to Texas, but when we are in town this is one of eating spots. Food is always good, as we remember, and the wait staff is always up to perfection.

The 50's Dinner was clean. They have polite waitresses. They even teased a gentleman about spilling his water. It was done in a fun manner not a mean manner. You knew they was teasing him not trying to be mean. Mom and I had good chuckle. Its always fun to go somewhere the staff all pleasnt, work well together, and can all joke around with the customer's. A very pleasant atmosphere. The food was served fast and hot. It was delicious. Since it was my moms birthday is checked if they had banana cream pie and a candle so i could sing happy birthday they didn't but did bring her a strawberry sundae at no charge. I would recommend The 50's Dinner to anyone who likes loose meat sandwiches, great atmosphere, fun waitresses, great service, all at reasonable prices.

A classic, kitschy diner with amazing biscuits and gravy, hot coffee, and pancakes. Many locals and regulars visit as well, which to me is a good sign of a great business. They have nice family feel.

This place is fantastic, the food is wonderful, the atmosphere is fun, and they have top-notch service with incredibly friendly staff. There is a small country store inside with lots of interesting items, home decor, jewelry and great little gift items.I've never had a bad meal here and the menu has a wide variety of dishes to suit any palate, be it simple or sophisticated, breakfast to dinner, child or adult. Personally, I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy.

Small portions, but good service.

As the name says, this is a 50's style diner. They have an amazing menu at very reasonable prices. Today they were super busy. May be because it's Saturday and there is also a farmers market in the shopping center. Lot of loyal local customers eat here. They also have a nice gift shop on the premises. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed.

This place used to be one of my favorites, but you know how the old saying goes "don't mix business with pleasure". Unfortunately I didn't listen to this advice and my landscaping business decided to take on Emily's (Owner) requested mowing needs.The yard was such a mess that the neighbors thanked me for finally getting it cleaned up and I remember wondering if this kind of cleanliness and carelessness carried over to the 50's diner she owns.Well, unfortunately it does. Emily has yet to pay my company for any of our services and ignores all requests to do so. On top of not paying for requested services, I couldn't help notice the cleanliness and disorganization in that restaurant. I've experienced enough to where I can't eat there anymore. It's truly a shame when a restaurant that used to be known for excellent food and service dwindles because it is not being managed properly.Sorry 50's diner low class and quality don't make a good recipe.

I went there for breakfast with my mom and grandmother at 11 on a sunday morning. The service was fantastic and the food was good. I very muched liked the aesthetic of the 50s era design. The waitress was very kind and ontop of all our needs. They guy bussing tables was also very kind and made sure our plates were taken when we were finnished. All in all it was a great experience. We will definitely be back!

Good food, great service, down home cooking, and they treat you like family. If you go there often enough, as I do, they will even pick on you (if you like that sort of thing, and I do). I would have given them a five star rating, but I feel like they are are a little bit pricey for what you get. But hey, I'm old, I still think gas should only be $.25 per gallon.

Not outstanding. Okay diner food. Good prices and portions, fun retro atmosphere. About half the space is gifts/shopping with holiday options. Not quite the same as when it was maid rite

Whipped spread instead of butter. Hydrogenated soy product. So was Leary about the quality of ingredients more than usual when eating a breakfast at a diner. Plus other things there were were not fantastic regarding staff members that I won't elaborate on. :/
